I love this sign. It breaks so many rules but has so much charm. First, the ornate, circusy and tattoo parlor serifs all over the letterforms look awesome. You’ve got two repeating forms, “MI”–”MI”. And the oddest apostrophe I’ve ever seen.
Don’t forget to stack it vertically. Have you ever seen an apostrophe in vertical use? How do you know where to put it?
And just in case you’re totally lost and can’t find the street signs, they’ve even painted the cross streets, in a very conservative sans.
