The monolith of Park Avenue, the Met Life building is visible either end of the avenue and gives you a pinpoint reference to 42nd street. Grand Central Terminal sits directly below it.
It used to be owned by Pan-Am ages, and ages ago. Still today it proudly dominates Park Avenue, regardless if you are north or south. At it’s construction the Pan Am building was the largest commercial high rise in the world.
